23 Но Сим и Иафет взя́ли оде́жду,

23 [But, Yet] This and Japheth [have taken, they took it, took] clothes,

положи́ли её себе́ на пле́чи и,

put her [himself, myself, thyself, to myself, yourself] [at, by, in, it, on the, to, toward, upon] shoulders and,

пятясь,

вошли́ и прикрыли наготу́ отца́.

[entered, they entered] and прикрыли [nakedness, nudity] [father, the father].

Их лица бы́ли обращены в другу́ю сто́рону,

[Them, Their] faces [been, has been, were] обращены [at, in, of, on] [another, other] side,

что́бы им не уви́деть наготы отца́.

[to, so that, in order to, because of] [it, them] [never, not] see наготы [father, the father].

Then Shem and Japheth took a garment,
laid it on both their shoulders,
and walked backward and covered the nakedness of their father.
Their faces were turned backward,
and they did not see their father's nakedness.
