горе,

столи́ца вели́кая,
capital [great, mighty],
оде́тая в тончайшую льняну́ю оде́жду,
dressed [at, in, of, on] [the finest, the thinnest] linen clothes,
в пурпурное и алое,
[at, in, of, on] purple and (the scarlet),
украшенная золотом,
decorated [gold, in gold],
драгоце́нными камня́ми и же́мчугом!

19 Они́ посыпа́ли свои́ го́ловы пылью и со слеза́ми и ско́рбью причита́ли:

столи́ца вели́кая,

обогатившая всех судовладельцев свои́м бога́тством!
[enriched, the one who enriched] [all, everyone] shipowners [his, mine, your] [mammon, riches, wealth]!
В оди́н час она́ была́ уничтожена!
[At, In, Of, On] [alone, one] hour [she, she is] was destroyed! |
And they cast dust on their heads,

21 Зате́м могу́чий а́нгел взял большо́й ка́мень размером с ме́льничный жёрнов и бро́сил его́ в мо́ре,

–Так бу́дет бро́шена и вели́кая столи́ца Вавило́н,

и никто́ уже́ её не найдёт.
