5 И́бо,

5 [For, Because],

когда́ мы жи́ли по плоти,

when [we, we are] lived [along, by, in, on, to, unto] flesh,

тогда́ страсти греховные,

then страсти греховные,

обнаруживаемые зако́ном,

обнаруживаемые [by law, law, legislation],

действовали в членах на́ших,

действовали [at, in, of, on] членах our,

что́бы приноси́ть плод сме́рти;

[to, so that, in order to, because of] bring fruit [death, of death];

For when we were in the flesh,
the motions of sins,
which were by the law,
did work in our members to bring forth fruit unto death.
