(the ignorant),
бу́дете люби́ть неве́жество?

доко́ле бу́йные бу́дут услажда́ться бу́йством?
[before, how long, until] violent [will, be] enjoy [riot, violence]?
доко́ле глупцы́ бу́дут ненави́деть зна́ние?
[before, how long, until] fools [will, be] [dislike, hate, hates, to hate] knowledge?

How long,
ye simple ones,
will ye love simplicity?
and the scorners delight in their scorning,
and fools hate knowledge?
