говоря́ сие́,

[saying, talking] this,

они́ едва́ убеди́ли наро́д не приноси́ть им же́ртвы и идти́ ка́ждому домо́й.

[they, they are] [barely, hardly, scarcely] [convinced, persuaded] [crowd, nation, people] [never, not] bring [it, them] victims and [go, to go] [any one, each, to each] [home, house].

Ме́жду тем,

[Among, Between, Meanwhile] [by that, that],

как они́,

[how, what, as, like (comparison)] [they, they are],

оставаясь там,

оставаясь there,

учи́ли,

[taught, they taught me],

And with these sayings scarce restrained they the people,
that they had not done sacrifice unto them.
