John 19:31 NRT
31 Was friday,
and jews [never, not] [they wanted, wanted],
[to, so that, in order to, because of] body [remain, remained] [at, by, in, it, on the, to, toward, upon] crosses [at, in, of, on] [sabbath, saturday],
[by that, that] [above, greater, more, over],
[what, that, why] [that, these, this] [saturday, sabbath] was [happy, day, in the afternoon] [great, the great one] [feast, holiday, the holiday].
[That Is Why, Therefore, Wherefore] [they, they are] [asked, they asked] Pilate [interrupt, kill] crucified [legs, lower legs, shins] and [take off, remove] [them, their] body [and, from, in, of, with] crosses. |
Since it was the day of Preparation, and so that the bodies would not remain on the cross on the Sabbath (for that Sabbath was a high day), the Jews asked Pilate that their legs might be broken and that they might be taken away. John 19:31 ESV
The Jews therefore,
because it was the preparation, that the bodies should not remain upon the cross on the sabbath day, (for that sabbath day was an high day,) besought Pilate that their legs might be broken, and that they might be taken away. John 19:31 KJV |
