20 [behold, here, there],

бли́же бежа́ть в сей го́род,

[closer, near] [flee, run, to flee, to run] [at, in, of, on] this [city, town],

он же мал;

he [but, same, then] [little, small, tiny];

побегу я туда́,

и сохранится жизнь моя́.

Behold,
this city is near enough to flee to,
and it is a little one.
Let me escape there—is it not a little one?—and my life will be saved!”
