13 Иа́ков сказа́л ему́:

13 [Jacob, James] [he said, said, saith, say, saying, tell] [him, it, to him]:

господи́н мой зна́ет,

[lord, master, mister] [mine, my] knows,

что́ де́ти нежны́,

[what, that, why] children [gentle, tender],

а ме́лкий и кру́пный скот у меня́ дойный:

[while, and, but] small and large [cattle, livestock] [at, by, with, of] [i, me, self] milking:

е́сли погна́ть его́ оди́н день,

[if, a, when, unless] (let us go) [his, him, it] [alone, one] day,

то помрёт весь скот;

that [die, he will die, will die] [all, entire, everything, the whole, whole] [cattle, livestock];

But Jacob said to him,
“My lord knows that the children are frail,
and that the nursing flocks and herds are a care to me.
If they are driven hard for one day,
all the flocks will die.

And he said unto him,
My lord knoweth that the children are tender,
and the flocks and herds with young are with me:
and if men should overdrive them one day,
all the flock will die.
