9 Лу́чше просто́й,
9 [Better, Expedient] [ordinary, plain, simple],
но рабо́тающий на себя́,
[but, yet] working [at, by, in, it, on the, to, toward, upon] [itself, myself, yourself],
не́жели выдающий себя́ за знатного,
(rather than) выдающий [itself, myself, yourself] [after, around, at, behind, over] знатного,
но нуждающийся в хле́бе.
