Слушались

36 И́бо незадолго пред сим яви́лся Февда,

36 [For, Because] незадолго [before, front] this [appeared, he appeared] Февда,

выдава́я себя́ за кого́-то вели́кого,

[giving, giving out, issuing] [itself, myself, yourself] [after, around, at, behind, over] [somebody, someone] [great, the great one],

и к нему́ пристало о́коло четырехсот челове́к;

and [to, for, by] [him, his] пристало [near, nearby] четырехсот [man, human, person];

но он был уби́т,

[but, yet] he [be, to be, was, were] [dead, killed, murdered],

и все,

and [all, any, every, everybody, everyone],

кото́рые слушались его́,

[which, who] слушались [his, him, it],

рассе́ялись и исчезли.

[dispersed, overspread, scattered] and исчезли.

For before these days rose up Theudas,
boasting himself to be somebody;
to whom a number of men,
about four hundred,
joined themselves:
who was slain;
and all,
as many as obeyed him,
were scattered,
and brought to nought.

но он поги́б,

и все,

кото́рые слушались его́,

рассыпались.

After this man rose up Judas of Galilee in the days of the taxing,
and drew away much people after him:
he also perished;
and all,
even as many as obeyed him,
were dispersed.
