9 Ита́к,

9 [So, Therefore],

что же?

[what, that, why] [but, same, then]?

име́ем ли мы преиму́щество?

[we have, keep] whether [we, we are] advantage?

Нисколько.

И́бо мы уже́ доказали,

[For, Because] [we, we are] already доказали,

что как Иуде́и,

[what, that, why] [how, what, as, like (comparison)] Jews,

так и Еллины,

so and [Hellenes, Greek],

все под грехо́м,

[all, any, every, everybody, everyone] [below, beneath, under, underneath] [a sin, sin],

What then?
are we better than they?
No,
in no wise:
for we have before proved both Jews and Gentiles,
that they are all under sin;

9 Тепе́рь я ра́дуюсь не потому́,

9 Now i rejoice [never, not] [because, that is why, therefore],

что вы опеча́лились,

но что вы опеча́лились к покая́нию;

и́бо опеча́лились ра́ди Бо́га,

[for, because] [distressed, sad, saddened, sorry] (for the sake of) God,

так что нисколько не понесли́ от нас вреда́.

so [what, that, why] нисколько [never, not] [suffered, carried] from [us, we] [damage, harm, injury].

Now I rejoice,
not that ye were made sorry,
but that ye sorrowed to repentance:
for ye were made sorry after a godly manner,
that ye might receive damage by us in nothing.
