и таки́м о́бразом за́поведь,

and so [in a manner, lifestyle, way] [charge, commandment],

данная для жи́зни,

данная for life,

послужила мне к сме́рти,

послужила [me, to me] [to, for, by] [death, of death],

And the commandment,
which was ordained to life,
I found to be unto death.
