39 И никто́,

39 And [no one, nobody],

пью́щий ста́рое вино́,

drinker old wine,

не захо́чет молодо́го,

[never, not] wants young,

потому́ что ска́жет:

[because, that is why, therefore] [what, that, why] [he will say, saith, say, will say]:

«Ста́рое лу́чше».

«Old [better, expedient]».

And no one after drinking old wine desires new,
for he says,
‘The old is good.’”
