38 Он сказа́л:
38 He [he said, said, say, saying, tell]:
не пойдёт сын мой с ва́ми;
[never, not] [depart, will go] son [mine, my] [and, from, in, of, with] you;
потому́ что брат его́ у́мер,
[because, that is why, therefore] [what, that, why] brother [his, him, it] died,
и он оди́н оста́лся;
and he [alone, one] [remained, stay, stayed, tarried, tarry];
е́сли случи́тся с ним несчастье на пути́,
[if, a, when, unless] [happen, it will happen, will happen] [and, from, in, of, with] him несчастье [on the, it, at, to, in, by] [ways, path, road],
в кото́рый вы пойдете,
[at, in, of, on] [which, which the, who] [ye, you] пойдете,
то сведете вы седину́ мою с печа́лью во гроб.
that сведете [ye, you] [gray hair, gray hairs] [my, mine] [and, from, in, of, with] [sadness, sorrow, sorrowful] in [coffin, sepulchre]. |
But he said, &#;My son shall not go down with you, for his brother is dead, and he is the only one left. If harm should happen to him on the journey that you are to make, you would bring down my gray hairs with sorrow to Sheol.&#; Genesis 42:38 ESV
And he said,
My son shall not go down with you; for his brother is dead, and he is left alone: if mischief befall him by the way in the which ye go, then shall ye bring down my gray hairs with sorrow to the grave. Genesis 42:38 KJV |

Genesis 44:29 RUSV
29 е́сли и сего́ возьмете от глаз мои́х,
29 [if, a, when, unless] and (with his) возьмете from eye [mine, my, of mine],
и случи́тся с ним несчастье,
and [happen, it will happen, will happen] [and, from, in, of, with] him несчастье,
то сведете вы седину́ мою с горестью во гроб.
that сведете [ye, you] [gray hair, gray hairs] [my, mine] [and, from, in, of, with] горестью in [coffin, sepulchre]. |
If you take this one also from me, and harm happens to him, you will bring down my gray hairs in evil to Sheol.’ Genesis 44:29 ESV

as soon as he sees that the boy is not with us, he will die, and your servants will bring down the gray hairs of your servant our father with sorrow to Sheol. Genesis 44:31 ESV
It shall come to pass,
