17 [say, they say]:
мы игра́ли вам на свире́ли,
[we, we are] [gamble, played, were playing] [to you, ye, you] [at, by, in, it, on the, to, toward, upon] pipes,
и вы не пляса́ли;
and [ye, you] [never, not] [dancing, they danced];
мы пе́ли вам печальные пе́сни,
[we, we are] sang [to you, ye, you] печальные songs,
и вы не рыда́ли.
and [ye, you] [never, not] [sobbed, sobbing, weep]. |
