7 Когда́ вы молитесь,

7 When [ye, you] pray,

то не болтайте попусту,

that [never, not] болтайте попусту,

как э́то де́лают язы́чники,

[how, what, as, like (comparison)] [that, this, it] [are doing, do, doing, make] pagans,

кото́рые ду́мают,

[which, who] [assume, believe, they think, think],

что бу́дут услышаны благодаря́ своему́ многословию.

[what, that, why] [will, be] услышаны [because of, thanks to] [to his, your own] многословию.

“And when you pray,
do not heap up empty phrases as the Gentiles do,
for they think that they will be heard for their many words.
